Most of our prayers involve us telling God what we want. And that’s good and important. But Jesus models for us another kind of prayer that’s even more important. So in today’s sermon, we’ll explore why we need to pray like Jesus and why it’s life-changing when we do. Join us as we wrap up our series, “Powerful Prayers.”

“I’m Sorry” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Sep 28, 2025
Sunday Sep 28, 2025
It’s never fun to apologize for something we did wrong. And for many of us, the idea of apologizing to God (or to use biblical language, “confessing our sins”) feels like exactly the kind of self-shaming we need to do less of, not more. But in today’s sermon we’ll see that our aversion to confession is rooted in a massive misunderstanding, and we’ll learn why “I’m Sorry” is actually one of the most lifegiving prayers we can pray. Join us as we continue our series, “Powerful Prayers.”

“Break My Heart” // Minoka Yonts
Sunday Sep 21, 2025
Sunday Sep 21, 2025
What should we pray about? Our prayers often revolve around our own concerns and what we want God to do about them. And that’s good, because God does want us to pray about our concerns. But in today’s sermon we’ll explore another side of prayer that we sometimes neglect. We’ll discover the difference it makes when we don’t just tell God what’s on our heart for God to do, but when we also ask God what’s on God’s heart for us to do. Join us as we continue our series, “Powerful Prayers.”

Sometimes when we’re struggling in life, it can feel like God’s not listening. We keep telling God about our challenges and asking for help, but it sometimes seems like God’s gone silent. That can be really painful and frustrating. So in today’s sermon we’ll explore a powerful biblical story about that very experience, and we’ll discover a surprisingly simple insight that has the potential to transform our relationship with God and change our lives. Sometimes in life, we find ourselves standing at a crossroads where we have to choose between what feels good and what’s right. And our decisions in those pivotal moments often shape our lives, and the lives of those around us, in profound and lasting ways. So in today’s sermon, we’ll explore the story of the very first Christians when they found themselves at a major crossroads. And as we study their bold example, we’ll consider what’s possible for us, and for our church, if we follow in their footsteps. Join us as we begin a new series, “Powerful Prayers.”

Sunday Aug 17, 2025
Sunday Aug 17, 2025
We all look to people we admire for guidance and inspiration. But if we’re honest, we often go one step further and simply wish we were someone else. It’s tempting to see our flaws, failures, and weaknesses as burdensome obstacles to overcome. But in today’s sermon, we’ll explore a powerful biblical reminder to find joy in who we are, rather than who we wish we were. Join us as we continue our series, “Pillars of Joy.”
