“Serving Matters” // Charlie Baber
Sunday May 12, 2024
Sunday May 12, 2024
In our consumeristic culture, we’re often led to believe that we’ll find fulfillment by focusing squarely on ourselves: our own wants, our own desires, our own pleasures and achievements. But Jesus exposes this as a lie. Self-centeredness just leaves us ever more empty. In today’s sermon, we’ll see that Jesus calls his church to be a community of service, where individuals shift their focus away from themselves and toward each other. Because not only does service benefit others, it leads us into true, abundant life.

“Giving Matters” // Daniel Childs
Sunday May 05, 2024
Sunday May 05, 2024
Nobody likes being pressured to give money. It’s deeply uncomfortable, to say the least. And yet, sadly, many of us have felt intense pressure from church leaders to give money to the church. (Couple that with high profile stories of churches misusing funds and pastors getting obscenely rich, and it’s no wonder our guard goes up whenever church leaders start talking about money.) So in today’s sermon, we’re taking a very different approach as we explore why our financial support of the church matters. We’ll see how one biblical pastor actually goes out of his way to remove any pressure his congregation might feel to give. And we’ll discover an authentic, guilt-free, joy-filled approach to investing financially in the mission of the church.

“Showing Up Matters” // Minoka Yonts
Sunday Apr 28, 2024
Sunday Apr 28, 2024
Most of us could probably name a time when someone showed up to be with us at an important moment in our life. Perhaps a family member traveled a long distance to help us celebrate our graduation, or a friend came to the funeral of someone we had lost, or a stranger sat with us through an emergency so we wouldn’t have to wait for help alone. Stories like these remind us that our presence is powerful. That’s an especially important insight for the way we do church. If we’re going to live into the kind of God-sized vision that Jesus has for the church, we must make a habit of showing up. In today’s sermon, we’ll explore what that entails and why it matters.

“Prayer Matters” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Apr 21, 2024
Sunday Apr 21, 2024
In today’s sermon, we’ll explore Jesus’ original vision for the church. Because, as it turns out, our typical ways of ‘doing church’ are pretty small and (honestly) very boring compared to the bold, adventurous vision of church Jesus puts before us. So today, we’ll begin thinking about how we can more faithfully ‘do church’ the way Jesus intended, starting with how we pray. Come ready to be challenged and inspired to play your unique role in the divine mission of Jesus.

“Does God Really Love Me?”// Daniel Childs
Sunday Apr 07, 2024
Sunday Apr 07, 2024
We sometimes go through seasons of life when we struggle to believe that we’re truly worthy of love and belonging. And in times like that, we may even begin to question whether God still deems us worthy of love. So in today’s sermon, we’ll explore the biblical story of a person who was wrestling with that same question. And we’ll watch how Jesus embraces him, restores him, and shows him the endless depth of God’s love. If you’re ever tempted to doubt your belovedness, this message is for you.

“While It Was Still Dark” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
We tend to associate Easter with brightness: warm spring sunshine, pastel outfits, colorful flowers, etc. But one of the eyewitnesses reminds us that the original Easter didn’t happen while things were bright. In fact, Easter happened while it was dark. Very dark. So in today’s sermon, we’ll learn what that shows us about God and we’ll discover the unshakeable hope we can find through any darkness we face. Join us as we celebrate the life-changing story of Jesus’ resurrection!

“Whom Will You Love?” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Mar 17, 2024
Sunday Mar 17, 2024
We’ve all encountered Christians who don’t love like Jesus. And if we’re honest, most of us have been Christians who don’t love like Jesus. And that means we’ve fallen short of our God-given calling to show the people around us what the love of Jesus looks like. So in today’s sermon we’ll explore one reason why we so often fail at Christlike love and we’ll learn from Jesus how we can do better. Because this world needs us to do better. “What Do You Live For?” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Mar 10, 2024
Sunday Mar 10, 2024
I’m busy. You’re busy. Everyone’s busy. But what are we busy for? What are we living for? Most of us are doing life so fast, we rarely evaluate what we’re giving our lives to. Perhaps if we’d pause, we’d recognize that we’re giving a lot of our life to things that don’t actually give life to us. In today’s sermon, we’ll consider an insightful question from Jesus that forces us to evaluate what’s really at the center of our life and what‘s really worth living for. “Why Are You Anxious?” // Lindsay Ballance Collins
Sunday Mar 03, 2024
Sunday Mar 03, 2024
Anxiety is something that affects us all. Not only is it unpleasant, but it can often be debilitating. In fact, about 20% of American adults suffer from a diagnosable anxiety disorder, which is also the most common mental health disorder worldwide. So in today’s sermon we’ll consider how our faith can contribute to the work of managing anxiety. Without being glib about the struggle and acknowledging the vital role of modern resources, we’ll consider what Jesus teaches us about overcoming our worries, big and small.
