“It’s About Our Hearts” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Oct 08, 2023
Sunday Oct 08, 2023
Money can be an uncomfortable subject. It’s understandable. Money affects our decisions, relationships, emotions, and sometimes even our self-esteem…often in ways that stress us out. Research suggests that the mere thought of our personal finances causes most of us to experience some degree of anxiety. So no wonder we don’t love talking about money in church. And yet, even though Jesus knows it makes us uncomfortable, he talks about money a lot. Like, a whole lot. So in today’s sermon, we’re simply asking: Why did Jesus talk about money so much? The answer may surprise you. Bring your discomfort and join us as we kick off our new series creatively titled, “Jesus on Money.”

Sunday Sep 24, 2023
Most of us don’t consider ourselves to be particularly influential. After all, we’re not powerful political leaders, or celebrities with international platforms, or social media personalities with millions of followers. And yet the surprising truth is, every single day, we have more influence over the people around us than we can possibly imagine. In today’s sermon, we’ll see that our extraordinary influence is actually part of our God-given identity, and we’ll learn how God wants us to use it. Join us as we continue our series, “I’m In.”

“I’m Invaluable” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Sep 17, 2023
Sunday Sep 17, 2023
We often think of church as a place we go: If we want to sing, or pray, or hear a sermon, or see our church friends, then we ‘go to church.’ And that’s true. But according to Jesus, church is not just a place we go…it’s who we are. In today’s sermon, we’ll see that Jesus has designed the church to function as a team on a mission, and YOU have a unique, God-given, invaluable role to play. If you’ve ever thought that your presence and participation at church don’t really matter, think again! Join us as we continue our series, “I’m In.”

“I’m Invited” // Daniel Childs
Sunday Sep 10, 2023
Sunday Sep 10, 2023
Some of the worst feelings in life are being unwanted, rejected, or uninvited. And yet, in different ways, almost all of us have been there. And many of us have even been made to feel unwanted in a particular church, which is especially painful. So in today’s sermon, we’ll look at the story of a biblical woman who endured the exact same experience and we’ll watch how powerfully Jesus responds…to her and to each of us. If you’ve ever doubted your worth or your place in God’s family, this message is for you. Join us as we kick off our new series, “I’m In.”

As you may have discovered, there’s some strange stuff in the Bible. It can sometimes be difficult to make sense of biblical stories that seem bizarre, confusing, or just messed up. So in today’s sermon, we’ll explore one of the strangest stories in the Bible and wrestle with questions like: How might God be speaking to us through a story like this? Why might this kind of story be important for people like us? Can we really hear God’s voice in all parts of Scripture? Join us as we dig into the rich layers of meaning within the Bible.

Defy Division
Sunday Aug 27, 2023
Sunday Aug 27, 2023
Our politically polarized society pushes us to be divided from those on the other side. Leaders on all sides wield the weapon of divisiveness in seemingly every fight. We’re led to believe that disagreement necessitates division. But Jesus begs to differ. In fact, one of Jesus’ chief worries was that his diverse followers would succumb to these divisive ways of the world. So in today’s sermon, we’ll explore why Jesus was so worried about division, how we can disagree differently, and the difference it makes when we do. Join us as we wrap up our series, ‘Not In It to Win It.’

Sunday Aug 20, 2023
Sunday Aug 20, 2023
One of Jesus’ most famous, most questioned, and (honestly) least obeyed commands is: ‘Love your enemies.’ In today’s sermon, we’ll explore the difficult-but-liberating dynamics of loving our enemies, especially in our polarized political context. Join us as we continue our series, ‘Not In It To Win It.’

Sunday Aug 13, 2023
Sunday Aug 13, 2023

We’ll consider how Jesus treats people who are wrong and what it would mean for us to follow his lead. Join us as we kick off our new series, “Not In It To Win It.”
